“Why paint the sky blue when you can paint it pink?” | In the Studio with Hiba Schahbaz

Brooklyn-based artist Hiba Schahbaz shares her journey which began in Karachi, Pakistan. The classically trained miniature painter turned large-scale contemporary artist pays homage to her roots while carving a new visual path both for herself and other women. From watercolor to oil paint, small to large, hiding to the gaze, Schahbaz's evolution correlates deeply with parallels to her own personal growth. We also explore her public art collaboration with Art Production Fund titled "In My Heart" which is currently on view at the Rockefeller Center through May 4th.
